Hitman Pete Slams New Bands Over Technology
Thursday, 28th August 2008Pop svengali Pete Waterman has slammed modern acts who rely on computers to pump out hits - despite making his fortune by using cutting edge technology in the eighties.
Waterman, who along with Matt Stock and Mike Aitken pioneered the use of technology on their way to more than 100 Top 40 chart hits, branded stars like drum and bass legend Goldie - who admits he can't read music - "lazy" for becoming reliant on technology.
Waterman, nicknamed 'The Hitman' for mastermding the early career of stars like Kylie Minogue and Rick Astley, went on to unleash Steps on an unsuspecting pop public in 1996.
Waterman, now 61, said: "I made my fortune by using technology before anyone else. But we do things now in music with computers that's not good.

Former Kitten Kerry Katona Declared Bankrupt
Thursday, 21st August 2008Fallen star Kerry Katona was declared bankrupt today after failing to settle the remainder of her £417,000 tax bill.
The High Court issued a bankruptcy order after hearing that the former Atomic Kitten singer and I'm A Celebrity... winner had not come up with the £82,000 still owed to the tax man, despite several warnings and being handed one final last chance this morning.

Batman Star Won't Face Assault Charges: CPS
Friday, 15th August 2008Batman star Christian Bale will not face any charges over claims he assaulted his mum and sister on the eve of the London premiere of smash hit new movie The Dark Knight, it has been confirmed.
The 34-year-old British born actor was arrested in London last month over accusations he attacked his mother Jenny, 61, and 40-year-old sister Sharon at the five star Dorchester Hotel the night before the British premiere of box office smash The Dark Knight.
